Where Twirls The Unleashed Artistry

If you can find yourself breathing the scent of the acrylics, or the petrichor of the clay; dha-dhin-dhin-dha of your ghungroo or saregamapa reiterating the lobes, well it's your day!

We are thriving as a life form intoxicated by the trivial social media. Wake up and check- our daily routine goes on somewhat like this. The moment we open our eyes, our mind travels to “What’s new?” column of every newsfeed. Our eyes are motioned along with our butter fingers- slipping and scrolling over numerous fancy insertions. And the eye catcher of all the charismatic charmers- the illustrations.

It’s the painting, which speaks to us in a pastel melody, resonating to the core. One can register or scrawl comprehensively, expressing the pizzazz in a smile or the salinity in the tears. But to seize the attention, art enounces louder, from Renaissance to the time of a neoteric’s immemorial.

Art galleries and museums have become enthralling terminuses for an ideal date. It’s a plethora of abstracts, flowing in an atmosphere of a sponged up startup residual to many young artists. If we glare at the past with a wider zoom, it can be spotted that the records and definitions of the timelines are better revealed in paintings rather than writings. Paintings have been in use when people didn’t even know how to spell words. Cavemen utilized the rocky walls to scribble as a form of articulation.

The auspicious occasion of October 25, 1881 celebrates the welcoming of the genius, Pablo Picasso- his birth anniversary is observed as a day to acknowledge the works of the artists worldwide, the International Artist’s Day. The Spanish artist wasn’t simply born as a painter, but his label as an artist also defined him as a playwright, sculptor, ceramicist and a mellifluous poet.

The International Artist’s Day was inaugurated by Chris McClure, a Canadian artist, on October 25, 2004. What can be a better month for the artists than the Inktober? While International Artist’s Day is a lively initiative, Inktober balloons up the decorated social media platforms with arts of all ages; not just for the underrated genre of talented artists, but it calls for the participation of beginners to showcase their uniqueness on a selected theme.

Art is not only a medium; it’s a mode to enhance the allure hidden in this world. We are surrounded by the creativity of musicians, dancers, writers, photographers, actors/actresses and many more- art isn’t confined in the etched illustrations or paintings.

The anguish of wars, wheedle of the traitors, romances and great friendships, all are chiseled in the various art forms that we study. Yet the encouragement it deserves often gets undermined by the audience.

An arena of opportunities has surely built up for graphic designers in this tech world. However, most of the artists lack the opening he/she deserves. Art doesn’t receive enough fund, unless it’s lavishly presented in an exhibition. One can never question the intellect which doesn’t choose to help brilliance for its paltry; dare not turning it to mockery!

There’s no finer way to rave the observance of International Artist’s Day than to support a local artist’s small business or a creator's space, be it a virtual blog or a real gallery. If you’re a parent and notice your child’s budding interest towards art and craft, an enormous amount of encouragement is requested, and if necessary, pleaded.

Renowned galleries of the world such as the Metropolitan Museum of the Art, National Galleries of Scotland, Art Gallery of Ontario and other foundations host fine arts events and open day to invite the citizens for free or at a minimal cost.

Even if you end up drawing a stick figure, you are greeted warmly into the forum of artists by uploading it with a #InternationalArtistsDay and if you follow the #Inktober2021 calendar, it’s out now.
