Even though the Khooni Nadi river is bordered by a gorgeous green forest, I would still not consider it a tourist destination. As much as it is believed to be haunted due to the screams people have claimed to hear, the name of the river isn’t related to any haunting.

It is believed that the river, if one touches the water in any way, sucks the person into it, further leading to the person drowning. The most interesting part about this river is that it isn’t deep enough for any person to drown, yet a lot of people have been found dead.

You might think, if that is the case, then there must be some haunted secret lying right in the water, waiting to be found. However, there hasn’t been any incident that can be related to the river being haunted. Since no incident has been able to be connected to any ghost of the past, the people turning up dead have been termed suicides.

The locals do say that the people who die come back as ghosts and haunt the river. However, there has been no proof of that. Besides that, it is also said that the river is actually a very deadly daldal (marsh), which is the actual reason for people getting sucked into the water.

For the same reason, the locals prefer to stay away from the Khooni Nadi. To increase the suspicions, a lot of people have said that they can hear screams and people asking for help when they go a bit closer to the river, especially after dark.

So if you’re thinking of exploring Delhi, the infamous Khooni Nadi is located in the Rohini region of New Delhi. A lot of residents of Delhi are also unaware of such a place existing in their city as it has always been kept under wraps due to unexplained mysterious deaths. And when it comes to this Bermuda Triangle of Delhi, some things are best left unexplained.

As much as the locals believe that there is some supernatural abnormality residing in the depths of the river, which is quite shallow, a lot of children do swim at this Nadi and remain unaffected, returning fit and fine to their houses. However, nothing can still justify what causes people to die, or in the words of the locals, to commit suicide in a river where it is difficult to drown.

If you plan on exploring this hidden Haunting Hill in Delhi, make sure to not go alone and not go after dark. But, let me not stop you if you want to pay a visit. Since there is no evidential proof of what is the secret of the river, one can only find out by paying a visit. However, keep in mind that precaution is always better than cure.
