Three Kings’ Church

Goa is a place where one gets the relaxation they need. It is a place of serenity. It is a place with beautiful views along with the sound of waves crashing giving the most soothing feel. The touch of the soft sand underneath the naked feet, removes the fine line between the sand and the underlining of the feet, making it all one.

However, that is not the only thing that the town is famous for. Besides the serene views and the relaxing feeling that it gives, Goa is also a place that is famous for the ghosts haunting it. Not just one or two but a lot of places are accompanied by ghastly entities.

Bridges, churches, chapels and a lot more unimaginable places are surrounded by stories of flying shadows and floating ghosts. One such place is the Three Kings’ Church situated in Cansaulim. This church is standing on top of a hill named Cuelim.

Goa, being divided into different parts of the north and south, has this church occupying some of the areas of the southern Goa. Just as the name suggests, people believe that there are the kings’ spirits still roaming around the church, haunting it.

Although there are a lot of claims by a lot of people regarding the stories of the kings haunting the church, they are mainly based on the strong presence they’ve felt in and around the church.

The main story that has been evolving around the church on it being haunted, is that there were three kings who ruled over the church. However, wanting to be the sole ruler of the church, all three of them killed each other in the process of acquiring the throne of the church.

There have been no instances of people being haunted or possessed by the so-called entities of the kings of the church however people claim that they have felt the presence of the ghost men. People surely have heard sounds and noises coming out of the church at night but there have never been actual haunting instances with anyone as such.

Still being considered as one of the most haunted places in the south of Goa, this is also one of the most unknown and undiscovered places. Being haunted, no one visits the church at night however, this church and the area are a must visit.

The whole area is surrounded with natural beauty. The hill of Cuelim is a paradise for the nature lovers as well as the one who are fond of history. Along with the beautiful greenery around the church, a breath-taking view of the Arabian sea is also something complimentary that is there.

Even if someone is not fond of the hauntings of the church, this church is a must visit and should be included in the plan of visiting the small town of Goa. The three kings would surely ensure to extend a warm welcome.
