Puneeth Rajkumar, born on the 17th of March, 1975, is a Titan of Kannada music. From his early days as an aspiring actor and child artist to his musical success, he has not failed to inspire many along the way on his journey. Born in Chennai, he would serve roles as a child artist - at barely 6 months and a year of age, that too - in movies like Premada Kanike and Sanaadi Appanna.

Receiving the award for the Best Child Actor from the Kannada State Film Awards, he would also repeat the feat at the 33rd National Awards - for his roles in films like Bettada Hoovu.

His debut as a lead role in films would come through movies like Appu - and it would spawn remakes in Tamil and Telugu, a testimony to its success. He would then appear in young roles - as a college boy, most prominently. Showcasing his dancing and stunt skills, he would appear in numerous remakes, and action films - and he would earn the title, the Powerstar of Sandalwood.

Daredevilry with his stunts continued in movies - and he would win award after award for these - both at the Kerala state level and the national level. There was no end to his career, as he continued with releases like Yaare Koogadali a remake of a Tamil movie - and Ninnindale, having romantic and action-packed roles.

Appearing in more films, and a fairly active career to date, he would also be known for using his voice extensively on stage - he was a good singer, after all. Ever since as a child, he had been performing solo in his films like Appu, and he continues to do so for some of his films. He even hosted the first season of the Kannada Kotyadhipati - a Kannada version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire - a feat which would make him a household name.
